    About CARES PROGRAM

The increased complexity of Vietnamese trafficking and smuggling has taken us to various transit and destination countries where Vietnamese potential victims of trafficking have passed through. Building on our knowledge and experience, especially upon the release of our “Precarious Journeys” research report in 2019, our CaRes – or “Capacity Building for Responders” – Program helps increase the knowledge and capacity of frontline responders in transit and destination countries in working with and supporting Vietnamese vulnerable migrants, victims of trafficking, and potential victims of trafficking. We work with frontline responders in both Europe and Vietnam. In Europe, we focus our training on frontline responders in transit and destination countries. We have also conducted training for border guards and law enforcement and supported curriculum development for police cadets in Vietnam.

    Within the CaRes program, we:

    ● Conduct cultural competency training for frontline responders such as yourself

    ● Manage an online support line to support Europe-based organizations with cases involving Vietnamese migrants and victims of trafficking

    ● Manage the CaRes Discussion Forum, which is an online network for frontline responders working in various transit countries to exchange information and support

    ● Distribute resource manuals covering topics such as cultural and trafficking contexts, interview techniques, and legal terms in Vietnamese and the local language
